Hello!
First let me offer up some apologies. My sister and I were off to a fast start, but then life happened! We have been busy behind the scenes trying to find a site for our store and get it up running, establishing a good base on Instagram, buying needed supplies and essentials for our homemade products we plan to offer, second jobs, going back to school, kiddos, sigh, the list goes on and on.
We still have a bit of a ways to go before our store opens, (shooting for March 1, 2016.) But, in the meantime, we are going to try and re-gain the steam back into our blog! Thanks so much for your patience and accompanying us on this journey!
Here's a quick post I did on one of my favorite oils, hope you enjoy it!
Need an all natural face cleanser or make up remover that is as gentle on your face as it is your pocketbook? Try coconut oil!
Coconut oil really is one of my favorite oils. With that being said, I had been hesitant to try it this way at first, especially since you are literally putting oil on your face. It seemed like I would be doing the opposite of what I was supposed to be doing. (Especially since my skin is prone to breakouts.) However, the one I had been using finally ran out and I kept putting off going to store. So I figured now's a good time as any. LOL

Any all natural, vegan, or organic brand should do. |
Well, my laziness paid off! After the first use, I could immediately tell the difference. My skin was already feeling softer and there was no dryness or irritation at all! I've been using it for over a week now, and my breakouts have started to subside, my skin tone is evening out, and even my blemishes are starting to fade. I wish I would have done a picture series, but I'm not that brave yet to share my bare face to the world! O.O
Anywho, please keep in mind that all skin types are not the same. I would think that since it's natural, the worse it could do would be to leave your skin a little oily. Only you truely know if this is something that you could add to your beauty regimen or not. If you give it a try, I would love to hear your results!
Till next time!
P.S. The steps I followed to make this an effective cleanser for me is as follows:
- Take roughly a nickel sized amount of the coconut oil and apply it in circular motions around face, neck, and eyes. (Taking extra care around eyes.)
- Take a towel/face cloth and wet it with warm water.
- "Wash" your face with said towel. (You may have to re-wet the towel again with warm water before the oil/makeup is removed to your liking.
- Optional. Splash your face with cooler water a few times to close pores and seal in the nourishing effects of the coconut oil.
- Pat dry.
